- Favorite Triathlon Moment/Memory: Finishing 2011 Ironman Wisconsin (my first and only Ironman) as 5th in 35-39 and 10th overall amateur women in a time I had no idea was possible, especially with the hot weather conditions. Also, 2013 USAT Age Group Nationals which was my first race really seeing what my potential could be with Daniel as my coach. Finishing 5th in my age group and standing on the podium next to women I have looked up to for years was an amazing experience.
- Funny/Embarrassing Tri Moment: We were waiting in line at the flight check in counter on our way to the Best of the US race in Orange County when I let out a loud gasp, and most of the line turned to stare at me. I had realized I left my transition bag at home which had pretty much all of my race gear in it. Thankfully my friend who had dropped us off at the airport had enough time to drive back to my house and get it, and we were still able to get past security and make it to our flight in time.
- Favorite Race: Holiday Lake Sprint, Copper Creek Sprint, Lake Geode Olympic, and all of the Pigman races are all very well run, have great awards, and just an all-round fun atmosphere.
- Fun Facts: : In the summer when I'm not training or racing, you can usually find me in the garden or kitchen. I spend a lot of time planting, weeding, harvesting, cooking, and canning, or playing with our four urban chickens.
- 2014 Race Schedule:
- Marion Half Marathon
- Scheels Duathlon Series
- Kansas 5150
- Age Group Nationals
- Hy-vee 5150 Championships
- Several other local triathlons
- Testimonial: I've known Bretscher Multisport triathlete Ron Gierut for several years and he's told me great things about Daniel. In the spring of 2013 I was getting burnt out on training and was finally ready to try something new. I talked to Daniel and asked if he would take me on even though race season had already started. Within the first few workouts my mojo was back, and I was happy to be training and looking forward to the remaining races that year. Over the winter Daniel organized track practices for the local athletes on the team. It was great to see him each week and have him push me beyond my mental limits. I'm constantly being surprised at what my body can do that my mind didn't think was possible, but Daniel knew was.
